Individuals dealing with AD/HD can encounter the legal system in various ways.

Sometimes people with AD/HD experience discrimination or difficulty receiving disability services or accomodations either at work, school, or other settings, and may need to enlist the help of an attorney or enforcement agency to secure these services or accomodations.

It is also well known that individuals with AD/HD, particularly if untreated, come into contact with the justice system at a higher rate than other individuals. The major symptoms of AD/HD -- inattention and impulsivity/hyperactivity -- may lead to acts resulting in contact with the criminal or juvenile justice system.
